Recruitment of new catch phrases for Miyagi tourism - The best prize will be decided by a prefectural referendum
The Sendai-Miyagi Tourism Campaign Promotion Council has started accepting applications for new tourism catchphrases from October 30, 2024 (Wednesday). The grand prize will be selected by a prefectural vote and will be presented with a "Miyagi experience to choose from" worth 150,000 yen. The application period is until Friday, November 29th.
In the recruitment project, we are looking for new catch phrases that will be widely used in Miyagi Prefecture from May 2025, replacing the catch phrase "Smile Blooms Every Time Itachi Na Travel" that has been used since 2011. The theme is "Together with the people of Miyagi Prefecture," and we are looking for catch phrases of about 20 characters or less, which will be a symbol of promoting tourism throughout Miyagi Prefecture.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old (parental consent is required if they are under 18 years old) and there is no limit to the number of entries you can enter. Five works will be selected in the first round of judging, and then the grand prize will be decided by votes of Miyagi residents from early January ~ early February 2025. One winner of the Grand Prize will receive a "Miyagi Experience of Choice" (worth 150,000 yen), and four winners of the Excellence Award will receive a set of rice cookers from a local company and rice from Miyagi Prefecture. As an entry prize, 30 winners will be selected by lottery to win a "Nissenren gift card worth 5,000 yen".
