Opening of a large temporary restaurant district "NOTOMORI" at Noto Airport—also for co-working

On November 2, 2024, a temporary restaurant district "NOTOMORI" opened at Noto Airport in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Established to support the reconstruction of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, this facility is home to six restaurants in the Noto area.

"NOTOMORI" offers its own unique flavors, including "Kokaen" in Wajima City, the local restaurant "Oshokuro Motarakan", "Noto Satoyama Shokudo Zen", which is popular for its authentic beef curry in Anamizu Town, and "Teraokado", a restaurant specializing in meat dishes in Shiga Town. After the damage caused by the Noto Peninsula earthquake, it took 11 months for each store to resume operations in temporary stores.

 

The facility is fully equipped with Wi-Fi, and it can be used as a co-working space during café time. In addition, there is an event space for 100 people equipped with projectors and screens, which is expected to be used as a place for community revitalization and exchange.

 

On the first day of opening, local government officials and disaster volunteers who had rushed from all over the country to support Noto visited and enjoyed the taste of Noto. The owner of Kokaen said, "I feel like we're finally starting to move, and we want to do our best with all six stores."

 

The restaurant is open from 6:00~22:00 and is divided into breakfast (6:00~9:00), café (9:00~17:00) and dinner (17:00~22:00). Lunch will not be provided. Irregularly.

Development of temporary facilities for the reconstruction of Noto

After the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, temporary shopping streets opened in August near Ipponsugi Street in Nanao City and Togikai Kaido Road Station in Shiga Town, and in September, "Suzunari Shokudo" opened on the Suzunari Campus of Roadside Station in Suzu City. In October, "Anamizu Smile Marche" will appear near Anamizu Station on the Noto Railway in Anamizu Town, and on November 9, a new temporary shopping street is scheduled to open in Monzencho, Wajima City.

 

These efforts are supported by local governments Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) We are proceeding with the use of subsidies.

 

The period of occupancy for businesses that move into the temporary shopping street is set at about 2 years ~ 5 years depending on each facility, and each business operator will have a specific plan for business development after leaving the temporary store within a limited period of time.
