ANAHD Makes Peach a Wholly Owned Subsidiary - Strengthening Regional Revitalization by Attracting Inbound Tourists

On December 20, 2024, ANA Holdings announced that it will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Peach Aviation, a low-cost carrier (LCC). The ANA Group's new strategy aimed at expanding demand from foreign tourists visiting Japan and revitalizing local communities will be launched.
Peach was established in 2011 as the first LCC in Japan. It was initially started as a joint venture between All Japan Airways (now ANA Holdings) and First Eastern Investment Group, a Hong Kong-based investment firm. In 2019, it was integrated with LCC Vanilla Air, which is also under the umbrella of ANA Holdings.
Peach was based at Kansai Airport in 2012 when it first entered service, and expanded to Narita Airport in 2015, expanding its network in Japan and overseas ( route map )。 In 2017, we became a consolidated subsidiary of ANA Holdings, and in the fiscal year ending March 2024, our standalone financial results were 22.8 billion yen, the first surplus in six years (compared to a loss of 12.4 billion yen in the previous fiscal year), and in the first half of fiscal 2024, we recorded record revenue.
The acquisition was made possible by the transfer of 7% of Peach's shares held by a Hong Kong-based investment firm (currently First Eastern Aviation Holdings). As a result, ANA Holdings will hold all of Peach's shares.
The ANA Group intends to create synergies by making Peach a wholly owned subsidiary, and to focus on attracting foreign tourists to Japan and contributing to regional revitalization.
