Muroran noodles "Yakitoriman" revived at roadside stations - Limited sale on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays until the end of March

At the café corner of Roadside Station Mitara Muroran in "Kana Steel Mitara Muroran" in Muroran City, Hokkaido, "Yakitoriman" will be revived as a new winter-only hot menu, and will be sold under the name "Muroran Yakitori Manju" only on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays until March 31, 2025 (Monday).

華まん(室蘭やきとりまんじゅう)

"Muroran Yakitori Manju" is a revival of "Yakitori Man", which was introduced in 2007 and gained popularity by Muroran Seimen, a local gourmet restaurant, and is made with chopped pork and onion and combined with a sweet soy sauce-based sauce. In addition, the flavor of charcoal grilling is added to the secret ingredient to make it taste close to the real thing.

 

At the café corner, in addition to "Muroran Yakitori Manju", popular Muroran noodles such as "Hokkaido Scallop Butter Man" and "Hokkaido Potato Butter Man" will also be offered. These Chinese buns are made with ingredients from Muroran and are sold only on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays during the winter season, and are all priced at 300 yen.

In addition, "Muroran Itanki Kombu Soup" developed by a local company is also available as a new menu. The soup, which uses local Itanki kelp and has a rich flavor, is offered at a price of 180 yen.

 

Business hours are 9:30~17:00 (November ~ March). To get there, take the Donan Bus from Muroran Station on the JR Muroran Main Line and get off at the Mitara Aquarium-mae Bus Stop.

Kana Steel Mittara Muroran " is a popular facility as a base for sightseeing in Muroran, with the roadside station Mitara Muroran and the Shiratori Ohashi Memorial Hall. From the café corner, you can overlook the Shiratori Bridge and Daikoku Island, and on a clear day, you can overlook Hokkaido's representative mountains such as Mt. Yotei, Mt. Usuzan, and Showa Shinzan.

 

Muroran City is located in the southern part of central Hokkaido and is a port city characterized by its hilly terrain. Factories of major companies such as Japan Steel gather, and it is currently popular as a tourist spot for the night view of the factory. In addition, there are beautiful coastline scenic spots scattered around, such as Cape Earth, which was selected as the first place in the "100 Nature Selections of Hokkaido".
