A food event to taste "unused fish aigo" at a hotel in Mie and Tsu - buffet and cooking demonstration to enjoy with local sake
On Sunday, April 27, 2025, Hotel Green Park Tsu (Tsu City, Mie Prefecture) will hold a food event "Searching for Delicious Fish from the Sea of Mie" to enjoy the utilization of unused fish, food education, local sake, and more. Co-sponsored by Margo Fisheries and Japan Food Research Institute, we aim to make effective use of local resources. (Photo: "Aygo", which is considered to be an outside road even in fishing)

Unused fish refers to fish that tastes good but is not available on the open market due to its size, low name recognition, or difficulty in cooking. On the coast of Mie Prefecture, the "Aygo" with a poisonous sting on the dorsal fin is a typical example, and is often treated as a "predatory fish". On social networking sites where anglers gather, there is often a lively debate about how to eat aygo deliciously.
On the day of the event, in addition to dishes such as deep-fried tatsuta, stewed, and sleet stewed using aigo, Japanese and Western snacks, free drinks such as Mie local sake, craft beer, and soft drinks will be served in a buffet style. The hotel's head chef will introduce recipes and cooking tips that can be reproduced at home.
The participation fee is 6,500 yen for adults, 2,000 yen for children, and free for preschoolers. The event will be held from 16:00 ~ 20:30 (last order 20:00). Reservations are required to participate in the event, and reservations can be made at Hotel Green Park Tsu (TEL: 059-213-2121). The hotel is located directly connected to the east exit of Kintetsu JR Tsu Station.

This event will be held as part of Hotel Green Park Tsu's local community support activities. The hotel says that it will "introduce how to cook aygo deliciously and convey the new value of food to the participants."
