Sanriku Highway Bus "Miyako-Kesennuma-Sendai Line"|"Sendai Station" ~ "Miyako Station" Operates in 4 hours and 10 minutes|Demonstration operation on Sanriku Railway Road

Iwate Prefecture Kita Motors and Miyagi Kotsu will conduct a demonstration operation of the Sanriku Highway Bus "Miyako-Kesennuma-Sendai Line" connecting Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture and Miyako City, Iwate Prefecture from October 22 (Friday) ~ January 31 (Monday) next year. We aim for official operation in the future.

In March of this year, the Sanriku Coastal Road connected Sendai and Miyako directly. It takes more than 5 hours on ordinary roads, but the highway bus runs "Sendai Station" ~ "Miyako Station" (247km section) in about 4 hours and 10 minutes. The route section is "Sendai Airport" ~ "Sendai Station East Exit" ~ "Kesennuma City Town Hitoshigoto Exchange Plaza" ~ "Rikuchu Yamada Station" ~ "Miyako Station" ~ "Roadside Station Seatopia Ado". Both Miyagi Kotsu (from Sendai) and Iwate Prefecture Kita Motors (from Miyako) make one round trip per day, for a total of two round trips.

From 10/23, two tours will be held: "Guided trekking bus tour of the easternmost point of Honshu Shigemo Peninsula Esadagasaki (participation fee 1,000 yen)" and "Sendai ⇔ Yamada ⇔ Miyako demonstration bus + Santetsu 2-day free pass monitor tour (participation fee 6,000 yen ~ 9,000 yen)". Michinori Travel Tohoku will conduct the tour.

The Iwate Prefecture Kita Automobile Sendai Sales Office hopes that "the demonstration operation will connect Sendai and Miyako through the Sanriku area, and will support the transportation of tourists and consumers."
