At the Botan Garden on the grounds of Ueno Toshogu Shrine, which enshrines Tokugawa Ieyasu, Yoshimune, and Keiki, we will hold the annual winter event "The 40th Ueno Toshogu Winter Botan" to exhibit about 160 botan plants from January 1 (Sat) ~ February 23 (Wed, national holiday) next year.

During the period, more than 160 plants of about 40 varieties will be exhibited, including winter botan (Yachiyo camellia, Shimanishiki, yellow crown) that blooms in winter, and cold botan (Togawa kan, shooting star) that has a flowering rate of less than 2%. Botan is wrapped in a straw enclosure by a method of tying a man knot with a rope and a decorative knot imitating a flower, and creates a wintery feeling that keeps out the cold.

In addition, with the release of the twin pandas Xiao Xiao and Lei Lei at Ueno Zoo from 1/12, the twin pandas will be stamped on the red seal from 1/1~2/28. The fee for the first fruits is 500 yen for a piece of paper written on a piece of paper, and 2,000 yen for a copy of the Toshogu Shrine's red seal book.

The garden is open from 9:30~16:30 (deadline for admission). The entrance fee is 700 yen for adults, free for elementary school students and younger, and 1,100 yen for a common admission ticket to the Toshogu Shrine.
