Sengan-en Garden in Kagoshima City|Enshrinement of a cat shrine on Harajuku Cat Street
Shimadzu Kogyo, which operates the daimyō garden "Scenic Sengan-en" in Kagoshima City, will open a shrine of the cat shrine that sits in Sengan-en from February 10 (Thursday) ~ 27 (Sunday) at Annon Harajuku on Harajuku Cat Street, Tokyo.

The enshrinement of the cat shrine is the first of the Kagoshima Sennyan Garden project, which is based on the concept of for all cat lovers from Kagoshima.
The cat shrine began in the era of Hiroko, the 17th generation of the Shimazu family, a warlord of Azuchi-Momoyama from the Sengoku period. Currently, cat lovers gather from all over the country.
During the period, in addition to accepting worshippers, we will unveil and sell a new brand of cat items "Ojos de Gateau". The lineup of items includes a total of 12 types, including ema, amulets, red seals, towels, and mugs.
Business hours during the period are 12:00-19:00.
Goods will also be on sale at Sengan Garden from 2/10 (Thursday). In addition, from 2/10 (Thursday) ~ 23 (Sunday), we will sell goods, exhibit cat illustrations, and hold a course on making cat-shaped straps with kiriko.


Sengan Garden
Seniwaen is a separate residence of the Shimazu family built in 1658 by the 19th generation Mitsuhisa. The scenery of Kinko Bay and Sakurajima is beautiful. Leading the modern era of Japan, it was registered as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 2015 as a "Heritage of Japan's Meiji Industrial Revolution".
Cat Shrine
It is located on a hill about 54 meters northwest of the Senganen Gate. It enshrines a cat that was accompanied by Prince Yoshihiro. It is said that if a person suffering from whooping cough prays for healing, it will be beneficial.
