Echizen Town, Fukui Prefecture "Echizen ga Appreciation Market" held|Before the end of the crab fishing season
In Echizen Town, Fukui Prefecture, for two days on March 5 (Sat) and 6 (Sun), the product event "Echizen ga Appreciation Market" will be held at the roadside station "Echizen". The event was organized by the Echizen Thanksgiving Festival Executive Committee (Echizen Town Tourism Federation).
In Echizen, snow crabs are landed at the port of Fukui Prefecture, and the fishing season is 11/6~3/20 every year. It is said to be the finest breed with sweet and firm flesh and is fitted with a yellow brand tag.
The Thanksgiving Fair is an annual event before the end of the crab fishing season. On the day of the event, in addition to "water crabs" (male snow crabs that have just molted) and "sockeye crabs" that are only available in Echizen and Fukui Prefecture, marine products such as Echizen garei and sweet shrimp will be sold. For take-out only, seafood gourmet foods such as fried seafood and seafood fried noodles will also be sold.
The selling price of Echizen crab starts at about 20,000 yen, and water crab and snow crab start at about 2,000 yen.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. ~ 2 p.m. There is a free parking lot at the venue "Roadside Station Echizen". For public transportation, take the Fukutetsu Bus from Takeo Station on the Echizen Kaigan Line and get off at Active Land-mae (65-minute ride).
