The special exhibition is held in Zone 4 of the museum, and introduces the current situation of Sanriku from the perspectives of "ensuring safety," "rebuilding people's lives," "revitalizing the way things are," and "passing on and disseminating information for the future." The museum opened in September of the first year of Reiwa. Under the theme of protecting lives and living in harmony with the sea and land, the exhibition exhibits photographs and videos of the history of the Sanriku tsunami disaster, the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, and reconstruction efforts, as well as damaged objects. Admission to the museum is free (on a regular basis). Open every day during the exhibition period.
