Edo Castle Town Sakura|Kimono Sakura Jidai Festival|Cherry Blossom Event Held at the Same Time

Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture, a town of Edo Castle, will hold the 22nd Sakura Jidai Festival Japan Heritage "Kitaso Four Cities Edo Travelogue" for two days on March 19 (Sat) and 20 (Sun) at Shinmachi-dori Street and Sakura Castle Park in the city.

The festival is a participatory event where people wearing kimonos gather to enjoy the event and create the Edo castle town of Sakura. 3/19 is a kimono contest, Yosakoi Soran. On March 20th, attractions such as Japanese drums, Edo street performances, and Nanjing jade performances will be held. In addition, there are hands-on programs such as armor, kimono, and shurikens, as well as food stalls and floats.

If you wear a kimono, you will be able to enter the former Hotta Residence, Samurai Mansion, and Sakura Juntendo Memorial Hall for free. NPO Sakura Milestone offers a kimono rental service (advance reservation).

 

In addition, from 3/19, an event with a cherry blossom motif " Sakura, a town dyed in cherry blossoms " also started (until 4/10). For two days, you can enjoy Japanese and cherry blossoms at the same time in the Edo castle town Sakura.

The event will be held from 10:00~16:00 on both days. Local access is a 10-minute walk from the Keisei Sakura Station South Exit, which is about 1 hour from the city center, or a 20-minute walk from the JR Sakura Station North Exit. There is a free bus service from each station. No private parking.
