JR West Japan Wakayama|Extension of cycle train usage section|Total 146.1km section from Shingu Station to Gobo Station

JR West Japan Wakayama Branch will extend the section of the "Kinokuni Line Cycle Train 2022" from Friday, April 1, where bicycles can be brought into the car as it is. In addition, we are working to improve the environment for accepting users.

Cycle Train is a service that allows you to bring your bicycle on a local train in the target section. From September to November last year, a demonstration experiment was conducted at "Shingu Station" ~ "Kii-Tanabe Station" on the Kinokuni Line. It has been officially rolled out since December under the name "Kinokuni Line Cycle Train 2022". It can be used without a reservation with a regular ticket only.

From Friday, April 1st, the usage section will be extended to "Kii-Tanabe Station" ~ "Gobo Station", and "Shingu Station" ~ "Gobo Station" (146.1 km in total) will be the target section of the cycle train. Usage hours are 9:00 ~ last train on weekdays, all day on Saturdays and holidays. There are 13 rules for use.

In addition, for travelers who are empty-handed, five model courses are available, including "Enjoy the spectacular view of Susami and a café (day trip)" and "Experience Nanki-Kumano Geopark and sea creatures in Kushimoto, the southernmost tip of Honshu (overnight)" using a rental bicycle near the station after boarding the Limited Express Kuroshio. There are benefits that can be received by users of limited express trains on the course. The current course is "Shingu Station" ~ "Kii-Tanabe Station".

In addition, we are working to create an environment that is easy to use, such as stair ramps on the platforms of some stations, cycle tracks, and photo panels.
