On Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22, the town of Minakami in Gunma Prefecture and the Tourism Association will hold an event called "Inspection and Discharge" of three major dams in the Okutone area, which represents the Kanto region.

What are the three major dams in Minakami Town? Yagizawa Dam 」「 Naramata Dam 」「 Fujiwara Dam 」。 Every year, before the flood season, we conduct an "inspection and discharge" to check the operation of the discharge equipment, and hold an event to observe it. On the day of the event, there will be a tour of the dam facilities and food stalls. It was canceled two years ago and last year, and this year it will be held for the first time in three years.
The three major dams are the Yagisawa Dam, the Naramata Dam, and the Fujiwara Dam. The Yagisawa Dam has a total storage capacity of 200 million tons, and in the case of a large discharge, 60,000 tons of water is discharged twice. The Yagizawa Dam and Naramata Dam are managed by the Numata General Management Agency of the Water Resources Agency. "Fujiwara Dam" is the Tonegawa Dam Integrated Management Office of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
Access to the dam is by shuttle bus from each dam parking lot. To use the parking lot, purchase a one-day parking ticket of 1,000 yen in advance. Yagizawa Dam Pass (200 yen per fast pass) is sold to users of accommodation facilities in the town. You can take a shuttle bus that runs with priority.
How to purchase a parking ticket will be announced on the official website at a later date. If you do not have a parking ticket, you will not be able to enter the dam tour. FastPass purchasers will receive a Naramata Dam 30th Anniversary Card Folder and a can badge.
