On Sunday, May 29, the Minamisanriku Fukuxing City Executive Committee will hold the 100th Fukuko Fair at a special venue for a temporary fish market at Shizugawa Port.
At the 100th Reconstruction Fair, about 20 restaurants, including restaurants in and outside Minamisanriku Town, will open. Sanriku delicacies such as oysters and sea squirts, local dishes, B-grade gourmets, and miscellaneous goods are sold. In addition, there are attractions such as the annual mochi-making competition, deer dance, and creative taiko drumming. The first 1,000 meals will be served with the delicacies of the Minamisanriku Sea, and the first 300 people will receive red and white rice cakes and discount coupons that can be used at the Fuxing City venue.
Admission is online Pre-registration and posted at the entrance. Alternatively, fill out the visitor sheet on-site. At the venue, you will be asked for basic rules to prevent corona infection.
To get there, take a highway bus from Sendai Station to BRT Shizugawa Station (about 1 hour and 40 minutes) and walk for 12 minutes. Within 10 minutes from the Sanriku Expressway "Shizugawa IC" or "Minamisanriku IC".
The event will be held from 9 a.m. ~ 2 p.m.
From the month after the earthquake, Fuxing City held the event once a month in a row to lay the foundation for the reconstruction of the town.
