Japan Tourism Agency|Announcement of nationwide travel support from July (forecast)

The Japan Tourism Agency (JTA) has announced that it will provide support for travel destinations nationwide from the first half of July ~ the end of August after assessing the infection situation in June.

観光庁が7月から全国旅行支援

Unlike the 2020 "Goto" nationwide travel support by the national government, the national government's nationwide travel support is to expand the travel destinations of the "Prefectural Citizen Discount" that has been implemented in prefectures since April this year to cover the entire country.

This time, the discount rate is 40%. The maximum discount is 8,000 yen (1 night) for an overnight trip with transportation. Accommodation only reservation (1 night) and day trip (1 time) are 5,000 yen. The coupon is 3,000 yen for weekdays and 1,000 yen on holidays for accommodation (1 night) and day trip (1 time).

The official decision is "expected to be around the end of June at the earliest, and by July 8 at the latest (Japan Tourism Agency)". The infection status is judged comprehensively by referring not only to the number of infected people but also to the opinions of experts (Japan Tourism Agency). The actual feasibility is determined by the prefecture that accepts travelers.

The current prefectural discount has been extended from the end of this month to July 14 (7/15 check-out).
