Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture "Echizen Grated Soba Sanma" will be held|Compare soba noodles at a great price

The Echizen City Tourism Association will hold a local gourmet project "Echizen Oroshi Soba Sanma" from July 1 (Friday) ~ September 30 (Friday) to compare soba noodles at soba shops in the city. Suspended during the Obon period (8/10~16).

Echizen City is the birthplace of "Echizen grated soba noodles" and there are many soba restaurants. The difference in spiciness depends on the firmness and thickness of the noodles and the amount of grated radish. Each store has its own characteristics, such as mori and kake style, and you can enjoy the difference in texture and taste.

At "Echizen Oroshi Soba Sanma", a set of grated soba tickets (3 tickets) that can be used at 21 soba shops in the city and coupons (worth 500 yen) that can be used at soba shops and about 40 tourist facilities is sold for 1,500 yen (limited to 2,000 sets). Tickets are sold at JR Takeo Station. Tourist Craftsman's Information Center or Target stores 。

The grated soba ticket is designed with the motif of banknotes in reference to Echizen, the place where bills began. The coupon is decorated with a masterpiece by the painter Taikan Yokoyama.

"Echizen grated soba noodles" is characterized by putting grated daikon on soba noodles used for strong flour and soaking it with broth. Echizen City is working to disseminate the "sacred place of soba noodles" in preparation for the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen "Echizen Takefu Station" in the spring of 2024.
