Japan Tourism Agency postpones "Prefectural Discount Support" until 9/30 check-in|Implementation of "National Travel Support" is difficult for the time being
The Japan Tourism Agency announced on Thursday, August 25 that it will postpone the implementation period of the current "Prefectural Discount Support" until September 30 (Friday).

In the mid-July announcement, it was suggested that the "Prefectural Discount Support" for regional blocks would be available until August 31 (Wednesday) for overnight stays, and then move to the "National Travel Support" for the whole country. However, due to the high number of people infected with the new coronavirus in the seventh wave, the "national travel support" was postponed prematurely.
The "National Travel Support" was announced in mid-June as a support measure to replace "Goto" and was originally expected to be implemented from the first half of July, but was postponed in mid-July. This is the second postponement announcement. This is the fifth announcement regarding the extension of the period of "Prefectural Discount Support" since April this year.
