On Saturday, October 22, the Koka City Tourism and Town Development Association in Shiga Prefecture will hold an event "Shinobi Night Battle 2022 ~Battle of Koka-Mizuguchi Okayama Castle~" at the ruins of Mizuguchi Okayama Castle (Kojoyama), a nationally designated historic site, for 50 warlords and 50 ninjas. The event consisted of 50 members of the Koga Ninja Army vs. 50 members of the army of the warlord Masaie Nagatsuka, who recreated the night battle. Participants compete for wooden cards with sponge swords in their hands and compete for the total score. Victorious armies are rewarded.
The battle to be recreated is that when the western army and Nagatsuka Masaie, who were defeated in the Battle of Sekigahara in 1600, fled to Mizuguchi Okayama Castle, the castle owner, the warlords of the eastern army and Tokugawa gathered Koga ninjas and launched a surprise attack on the castle. During the Toyotomi period, Hideyoshi, who aims to unify the world, takes over the territory of the Koga ninjas, and the cause of the problem is Mizuguchi Okayama Castle.
The target of recruitment is high school students and above. The number of recruits is 50 ninjas and 50 warlords. The participation fee is 5,000 yen for the general ninja (42 people) and 7,500 yen for the ninja head (5 people). Warlords are general (42 people) 5,000 yen, etc. ~ general (1 person) 10,000 yen.
