"Ceramics Festival" will be held in Arita Town where you can enjoy retro pottery, walking, autumn leaves, and food (11/19~23)

From November 19 (Sat) ~ 23 (Wed, national holiday), Arita Town in Saga Prefecture will hold the "18th Autumn Arita Ceramics Festival" in various places in the town under the theme of "Hospitality with Food and Vessels".

The festival is an event where you can experience the charm of Arita Town as a whole, such as walking around the town, food, and autumn leaves.
Free tours of wood-fired kilns that are not usually open to the public at six kilns such as Imaemon kilns. Mystery-solving walks, use of rental kimonos, and pilgrimage trips around the Arita Plateyama area, which opened this year, in 2 days and 1 night. Various town walking programs, such as a town guide by elementary school students and a tour of Arita's famous places that Mr. Tamori walked on an NHK program. For autumn leaves, we propose a tour of six spots in the town, including the 1,000-year-old Grand Duke Sun Tree lit up at night, and the Izumiyama Magnet Field, which will be specially opened to the public for a limited time.

 

In addition, special admission to the quarry of the Izumiyama Magnet Plant, the birthplace of Japan porcelain. Limited lunches and coupon gifts that serve dishes made with local ingredients in Arita ware vessels. During the period, when teacup offerings and sake bowl exhibitions are held at the same time, the town is in a festive mood. Please confirm the date and time of each program and whether or not reservations are required in advance.

 

Local access is about 1 hour ~ 1 hour 30 minutes by public transportation from Saga, Nagasaki, and Fukuoka airports.
