[Report (first half)] Glamping experience at "Ise-Shima BASE"|Produced by that photo printing company
In April of this year, the glamping facility "The Glamping Plaza Ise-Shima BASE" opened in Shima National Park in Mie Prefecture in Ise-Shima. This facility is operated by Plaza Create, which operates a photo printing business nationwide. We will introduce the features of the facility and report on the accommodation experience.

"Ise-Shima BASE" has a total of 7 dome-shaped tents based on the concept of providing "high-quality private glamping that warms the heart". Each tent has a spacious covered deck space for privacy, and the tent is equipped with two single beds and an extra bed and can accommodate up to four people. There are two types of rooms: "Standard Room" and "Theater Dome" with Smart TV. The deck space is fully equipped with a dining area, toilet and shower room.
Upon arrival at Ise-Shima BASE, a welcome drink will be served at the free bar in the reception building. Beer, wine and soft drinks are available, and unlimited drinks are available free of charge from check-in until 20:30. In addition, local beer, local sake, wine, and sparkling wine are available for a fee.
At dinner, a "glamping BBQ" menu using local ingredients will be served. There are two plans, "Standard" and "Special", and you can enjoy grilling local ingredients such as Matsusaka beef yourself. You can also bring your own food in the overnight stay plan. For breakfast, I eat my own grilled Matsusaka beef on a bun with cheese and vegetables.
The accommodation fee (1 room for 4 people) is 17,600 yen ~ for 1 adult and 19,800 yen ~ (1 adult) for the theater, and there is also a plan with a Shima indigo dyeing experience. Reservations can be made through the facility's website.
Check-in 15:00 and check-out 10:00. Breakfast 8:00~9:30 and dinner 17:00~20:30.
[Accommodation Report]
In mid-May 2023, I participated in the accommodation experience of the opening project of Ise-Shima BASE. Speaking of the Shima Peninsula, the 2016 summit was the occasion of the summit and the beautiful scenery of Ago Bay, where the Rias coast spreads, has become widely known. In the past, I had stayed for a few hours in Toba at the entrance to the Shima Peninsula on a day trip from Nagoya, so I was excited to visit Ise-Shima BASE. * Ise-Shima BASE usage fees (accommodation and meals) are provided by the facility.
If you are from Nagoya to Shima, the Kintetsu Limited Express is the right answer.
Ise-Shima BASE is about 7-8 minutes by car from Ugata Station on the Kintetsu Line, which is two stops before Kenjima Station. I left Tokyo on Friday morning and for some reason it took me almost 5 hours to arrive in Ugata. One of the reasons is the problem of the route chosen. I planned to transfer to the JR Limited Express from Nagoya Station and change to the Kintetsu Limited Express on the way, but I should have taken the Kintetsu train directly from the beginning. Although there is a benefit from the transfer discount on the Shinkansen and JR Limited Express, it took a long time to transfer to the Kintetsu Limited Express at "Matsusaka Station". It was raining on the day, so the waiting time felt long. In conclusion, the Shima area beyond Toba is not served by the JR Limited Express in the first place, so I think it would be better to choose the Kintetsu Limited Express.
In the heavy rain, we went to the gateway to Shima City "Ugata Station"
Arriving at "Ugata Station" and having lunch, the set meal restaurant of "Ugata Family Plaza" in front of the station " Cedar child I ordered a grilled Ise udon set meal. The udon noodles, which are moderately entwined with sauce and are plump, are perfect as a side dish for rice. After lunch, go to the café on the first floor. Tokino Home Coffee So, while drinking coffee, I waited for the car to be picked up by the inn staff. This building houses several restaurants, and it is recommended as a place to stay before and after getting on and off the train.

I told you earlier that it was a mistake in the route, but in fact, the original plan was to get off the train at "Matsusaka Station" or "Ise Station" in front of Ugata, rent a car, and head to the site while fishing. However, it rained from Nagoya. The weather forecast was rainy, but one out of every five or six times the forecast was off, so I was hoping that it would suddenly clear up.
Then, after passing "Matsusaka Station" and "Ise Station", the rain continued to fall, and we arrived at "Ugata Station". Then, I hurriedly asked to be picked up from the station. The facility staff responded and was really helpful. Then, we got into the pick-up wagon and arrived at Ise-Shima BASE around 3 p.m.
Arrive at "The Glamping Plaza Ise-Shima BASE"
After arriving, we gave up on investigating the surrounding area due to the weather. The lodging building is a series of accommodation buildings in front of the hut where the reception desk is located, drawing the shape of a loose arc. Each accommodation building has a door, and when you enter inside, you will find a full roof, a deck base enclosed on three sides, and a dome tent in front. It is a space where you don't feel like a neighbor, and your privacy is protected like a secret base. The photo was taken the next day.
On that day, there was a video conference in the evening, and it immediately became like a workcation. I have a shallow relationship with the person at the meeting, so I don't have an atmosphere where I can innocently say, "I'm connecting from Ise-Shima right now!" However, I forgot to blur the background and the deck base was projected, so I wonder what the opponent thought. Of course, the other party did not mention it.
Free bar for sale at Ise-Shima BASE
When the video conference was over, I suddenly felt a sense of openness because it was Friday.
So, I go to the free bar in the reception building to get a beer. It is free to use until 8:30 p.m., and you can drink as much as you want with draft beer, highballs, wine, and soft drinks. The beer is not happoshu-based, but as promised, it is beer. However, it was a little difficult to go back and forth due to the rain. If it was sunny, I fantasized that it would be fun to go to and from the bar with the starry night sky and the intoxication.
The bar is self-service, but I see the staff every time. I was a little worried that people would think I was drinking too much because I was going to pour beer many times, but he said, "Please drink a lot," and then I raised my pitch.
BBQ-style dinner with Shima ingredients
It seems that they are only drinking beer, but the "standard BBQ menu" for dinner is already in front of them, and they are enjoying grilling ingredients.

We had a very good dinner. Matsusaka beef, seafood caught in Ago Bay, and vegetables were also from Ise, and I was satisfied with the high-quality local ingredients. The variety and quantity are just right.
After eating, it was still raining outside, so I couldn't go for a walk. There is also a TV in the tent, but I don't feel like watching it. After a bit of work while getting drunk, I decided to take a shower. There was a compact unit shower room behind the deck space, and I was able to take a shower with just the right amount of water pressure.

I usually tend to stay up late when I'm traveling, but this night I went to bed around 10pm.
It's so early that I can't remember when it was, except that I fell asleep in the kotatsu after dinner in the winter. When I go to bed, I sometimes choose the sound of "rain" in my sleep app, and that night, the rain falling on the dome tent was sounding in a pleasant rhythm.
When I woke up before 7 a.m. the next morning, the sun was out. Yesterday I couldn't walk around the perimeter, so I took a light walk. The approach to the entrance at the time of arrival was far from the residential area with a vacant lot in between, but there was a residential area near the entrance on the opposite side of the facility. I'm curious about how the facility was built on this land, but I didn't ask why. Now, it doesn't matter.
Rather, you may be wondering why a company that operates the well-known photo service store "Palette Plaza" is operating a glamping facility.
Thoughts on PLAZA CREATE's glamping facilities
Last fall, Plaza Create, a photo printing business, opened a glamping facility in a town park in Iijima Town, Nagano Prefecture. ALP BASE We started the operation of the company. This facility will be the company's first glamping facility. Ise-Shima BASE is the next development, and it is self-operated.

The company entered the operation of glamping facilities when it was conceiving a new business during the Corona disaster, and it seems that it wanted to "operate an accommodation facility that creates records along with a photo service that will be remembered." It's a pretty cool concept. I think that this is the reason why I can feel the expansion from the photo printing business, and I feel romantic.
At the time of writing this article (early July), I looked at the company's official website and saw a photo of Ise-Shima BASE on the top page. As someone who has stayed at the hotel immediately after opening, I was very happy.
Location of Ise-Shima BASE
According to Google Maps, the distance from Ise-Shima BASE to Ago Bay is 700 meters, which is a 10-minute walk. If you just look at the signs, people who don't know the land will say, "Let's walk to the sea." In fact, I was going to go, but when I told the staff, I realized that it might not be realistic. Ise-Shima BASE is located high up the slope from the Ago Bay coast, and seems to be farther away than Google's indication. Later, when I drove by, it was a slope and it seemed difficult to walk.

Yesterday it rained and I could hardly photograph the facility. In bright light, I was allowed to enter the reception building and the accommodation building that no one was using, and I took a picture, so I would like to introduce it.

Make your own morning "Matsusaka Beef Burger"
When I returned to my room after filming, I was brought a breakfast burger set. At Ise-Shima BASE, the concept is to make your own morning meal, and you grill Matsusaka beef on the grill in the morning. There was a theme called Burger, and it seemed to be a hands-on program. In addition to burgers, founded in Taisho 8 in Ise Yamamura Dairy It is also noteworthy that it comes with milk and yogurt. In the morning, I saw him coming to make a delivery.

Eating a homemade Matsusaka beef burger in the morning will cheer you up. When I was ready to do today, I asked the staff to send me to the rental car shop in front of Ugata Station, picked up the rental car I had reserved, returned to BASE, and was seen off by the staff and left the facility.
Stay at "Ise-Shima BASE"
On the first day, it was raining, so we couldn't experience the original charm in the evening and into the night, but because it was raining, we were able to calm down thanks to the all-weather deck base and dome tent. If you imagine the time you spent in a sunny day, you will surely have a good time at this glamping facility. I could feel the motivation of the staff. It's been about two months since I stayed, and I'm sure it's running smoothly.
After checking out, I experienced making Shima indigo dyeing T-shirts, which came with the accommodation plan, and stopped at the famous observatory of the Shima Peninsula, and finally saw that view. Later Articles I will introduce it in.
