Day 2: How to walk around Noto Town (second part)|Fishing and night squid king exploration

This is a trip report (second part) of Noto Town. In the first part, the destination was decided to be Noto Town. In the middle part, we introduced our stay in the Udetsu area of Noto Town. (Photo: Ogi Port, Noto Town in the evening)

Medium part I introduced my stay in Udezu in Noto Town from Noto Airport. This time, on the second day of Noto Town, we will move from Udezu.

Morning of the second day in Noto Town

Day 2 in Noto Town. After enjoying a "good breakfast" from 8 a.m., we will go fishing in front of the inn. At this time, I don't have any enthusiasm to catch anything. While enjoying fishing, you will see the fishing boats moored at Udezu Port, and the wonderful scenery of the villages and satoyama that can be seen over the harbor.

I will definitely come again! about

When you leave your destination, do you ever declare, "I'll definitely come back!" In that moment, you're probably really thinking so. However, as time passes, most of the time they fail to deliver on their promises. I would love to visit the places I love again, but there are still many other places I would like to visit. Through this repetition, memories of a place that you will never visit but hope to revisit gradually accumulate.

The phrase "I'll definitely come again!" is an unconscious awareness that you may never actually visit the place again, and the accompanying To disguise loneliness From the moment I realized that it was a word, I stopped saying those words. When I think about it now, The face is stained red. Let's get back to the story.

I checked out of the inn at 9:30 and headed to the bus stop of "Consale no To" where I stopped yesterday. The bus stop is in front of the Noto Town Hall. Today, I will go to the Ogi area, which is about 20 minutes from Udezu by local bus. On the way to the bus stop, take a picture of the cityscape as you walk.

Incidents at the local bus stop

We arrived at the bus stop at 9:45. The scheduled bus departs at 10:45 and there is still one hour to spare. Arriving early is intentional. When waiting for a bus while traveling, I feel that paperback books are more suitable than smartphones, even on a computer.

Before I knew it, the clock was pointing to 10:50. On the other side of the wall, the bus must have departed as scheduled. I ran to the bus stop as if I was being chased by something, but it was already too late. This is not India. Grimacing As I was checking the timetable, an old lady who was waiting for another bus called out to me. Apparently, this trip has something to do with my grandmother.

The old woman says, "I'm waiting for the bus, but it doesn't come." I asked where she was going, checked the timetable and found that the departure time of the bus that she had been waiting for was listed, but it was noted that the service was canceled on Saturday that day.

I gave my grandma that information and the time of the next bus. The next bus was 2 hours later. I thought my grandma would be disappointed, but she was surprisingly calm and said, "That's right, I'll kill time and wait." Reporter O replied, "Well, there's a café there." We both made mistakes, but there was a striking contrast between the impatient traveler and the local grandmother.

The departure time of the next bus to Ogi is 12:42 and you will have to wait for about 2 hours. Travelers with limited time will have to hurry. So, I decided to use a taxi that was parked nearby to go to Ogi.

Squid riot

Ogi is one of the leading squid landing areas in Japan. In Noto Town, efforts are being made to revitalize the town and attract tourists using squid. Once a year, more than 10,000 people gather. Ikasukai will be held. In addition, on the shores of Kujuku Bay, which is close to Ogi, there is a tourist facility with the theme of squid. Squid Station Tsukuru Mall It opened in April 2020.

In April last year, on the premises of this facility, according to the sharp reading of the mayor of Noto? A huge squid monument was installed. As this budget, the government's Corona Regional Revitalization Temporary Grant of 25 million yen and the town budget of 5 million yen were invested, which became a hot topic. During the coronavirus pandemic, such spending was criticized as wasteful and unscrupulous, and experts also gave harsh opinions.

Increased attention through overseas media coverage

First of all, the domestic media reported negatively. But then, BBC, UK and The New York Times When foreign media picked it up positively, the situation changed completely. Suddenly, the giant squid attracted worldwide attention, and in response to the report, some domestic media reported that it had been picked up by overseas media. This sequence of events is a magical winning pattern for PR. The giant squid has begun to contribute to the economic effect of Noto Town. In town, Recruitment of Economic Effect Calculation Advisors I came to do it. While the number of tourists is decreasing due to the Corona disaster, the giant squid has already become a symbol of the town.

How to perceive sightseeing spots

Speaking of what to do in Ogi, it is fishing. It is likely to be said that he is not sightseeing in Noto, but for him, it is right in the middle of sightseeing. Noto Town is a tourist destination in its entirety. The whole town is like a theme park, and it feels like visiting the attractions in various places. The entrance and exit of the theme park are the airport. I always keep this in mind when I go fishing, or even traveling.

Before I came to Noto Town, I had seen the attraction Ogi on the map, but I had no plans to visit it. I became interested in Ogi because: Previous article I was advised by the taxi driver from the airport introduced in "If you want to fish, go to Ogi Port" and "Gather information at the fishing tool shop in Ogi Port".
In addition, I heard that if you cross to the offshore embankment where the Riiso is ferrying, you may be able to catch a big game. If I hadn't heard that, I would still be in Udezu or on my way to Kujuku Bay, where I was staying tonight.

Arrival at the suspension tool "Satoiso"

While looking at the scenery of Uchiura from the window of a slow-moving taxi, we arrived at Ogi Port in about 15 minutes. As soon as you get out of the taxi, you will find a restaurant " Ichiban Boat At this restaurant, the airport taxi driver and the taxi driver who just got on the train gave a lecture that "the best boat to have dinner in Ogi" is. Previous article If you are reading from, this trip is made possible thanks to the hometown taxi driver at Noto Airport. Satoiso is a short walk from the first boat, but I got off here to check the store.

After walking for about 3 minutes, the hanging tool " Riiso Arrived. When I entered the store and told the owner how I came to the store, he smiled. I responded with a smile, imagining that this was always a pattern. What exactly is this exchange?

If you look through the information posted on the wall of the shop, it says about the ferry crossing to the offshore embankment. The embankment is called "Ogi Port East Ichimonji". The ferry fare is 1,800 yen for a round trip. It takes 10 minutes from the port. It does not operate on time, and if you wish, you will be able to get to the boat. On the way back, you can call from the embankment and they will pick you up. It is a very convenient system. If you plan to use it, please check in advance just in case.

To Ogi Port Higashi Ichimonji

Put on the life jacket you borrowed from the store and head to the offshore embankment. We took up positions near the bow of the ship. Or rather, there is only one person on board. Navigating in a small boat is very impressive, with the line of sight close to the sea surface. The weather was nice and comfortable. Please experience the feeling of galloping in the video.

There are no predecessors on the embankment. Its length is about 250 m, and it is wide enough, but due to its height above sea level, it is a dike for intermediate and advanced users. On that day, a strong wind was blowing over the embankment. I was fishing at a point where I could aim for big game, but the wind made it difficult to fish and I was a little scared

So I moved to the bottom of the stairs on the embankment. I caught about 10 wrasse in quick succession at that spot. There was a lively response that seemed to be able to catch as much as it wanted. Bella is not photographed, so I can't show you the evidence, but... It is a fish that is usually treated as an outland, but the size of the wrasse that can be caught here is large, and it was rewarding to catch.

小木港一文字堤防

After an hour, one person came up to the embankment. The aim is the blue squid. He lives in Noto and goes to this embankment. After all, it is known as a point where you can catch big fish, so I enjoyed talking about fishing.

The sky was cold with a strong wind, but I was tired. It's 2 hours of actual fishing, but I'll put the rod in here. The favorite fishing was the high-class grouper, but unfortunately it was a complete loss. When I called Riiso, I was immediately picked up.

After returning to land, I met the landlady of Satoiso and the inn where I would stay tonight. One water And he said, 'I'll send you a water.' I am very grateful for these words. When the husband returned from the maintenance of the ship, the landlady said, "Send it to the water." The husband said, "It's one water." This exchange was very natural and warm. While expressing my gratitude and expressing my gratitude, I was able to get into the car in a natural manner. The photo shows the scenery in front of Satoiso.

We arrived at Kujuku Bay in about 5 minutes. As expected, it is a superb view worthy of a place that crowns the 100 views of Japan. It's quiet and almost like a lake. You can also see the autumn leaves. The inn for the day is "Minshuku Ichimizu" on the shore of Kujuku Bay. Just like the guest house Fuwa in Udezu, Ichimizu is also built a few meters from the sea. The ninety-nine bays in front of the entrance are like a garden.

能登町 九十九湾

Kujuku Bay and Squid Station Tsukuru Mall

There was a "Squid Station Mall" right there. Next to the facility, there is a monument to that giant squid. It was Saturday evening and there were not many people. My impression is that it is real and bigger than I expected. There is also a restaurant in the facility, but it was already closed. A tour of the facility and a meal are something to look forward to tomorrow.

Around Ninety-nine Bays and inns

In the vicinity of the entrance to Kujuku Bay, there are squid facilities and inns, and nature spreads out except for the houses scattered along the main road. There are no shops. There are street lights on the main road, but it is a place where it is likely to be pitch black at night.

After checking in at the inn, I looked at Kujuku Bay from my room. lodge is a large two-story Japan house, which looks bigger than the fluffy one we stayed in yesterday. The building itself is It's old, Rooms and hallways are well maintained and cleaned, giving you a sense of security. This is a common sight in Noto. , as I think it is also a characteristic of the people of Noto Now.

That night, we stayed overnight without meals and walked back to "Ichibanfune" in Ogi to have dinner. The distance is about 1.5 km and goes over the mountain through a long tunnel. There is a solid sidewalk, but you need to be careful behind you because there are cars coming that clearly exceed the legal speed limit.

Back to Ogi

It took about 30 minutes to arrive at Ogi. When I return to the place where I was staying not long ago, I murmur in my heart, "Oh, I'm back," and become like a senior. I went to buy something at a supermarket in a residential area between the port and the main road. Then, take a leisurely walk along the harbor as the sun goes down.

能登町 小木地区

Near the first boat, there is a large squid fishing boat moored that I did not see during the day. It is a magnificent ship that can make a long expedition, and it looks like a squid battleship loaded with a device for catching squid. I'm sure the crew of this ship is building a squid palace.

能登町 小木港のイカ釣り漁船

When I passed the squid fishing boat, I saw an elderly couple fishing. If you look into the bucket, you will find horse mackerel and sardines. His home is right in front of him, and his wife is carrying fish and tools. When I asked, they said, "I can't catch much today," or "I'm going to use fish as bait to catch blue squid."

Pseudo-bait (lure) fishing is quite popular among the younger generation, and the image of blue squid is strong, but the local elderly continue to fish with traditional live fish as bait. Many older anglers in rural areas consider fishing to be part of their daily routine rather than a hobby. The fish they catch is sometimes used as a side dish on the table or purchased by fishery cooperatives.

小木港

I will visit Satoiso and thank you for the ferry crossing and transportation to the inn. At that time, I was measuring the medina that the angler had just brought in. It seems that the Medina Derby is being held in Satoiso. The Medina that I am measuring now is about 40 cm, and it is said that it has come out on top.

I'm going to buy a blue isome to use for tomorrow's fishing. The blue isome sold by Satoiso is of high quality, stiff and moderately long. Above all, it is lively. This seems to be carefully managed. If you say that the blue isome is at the level of the rock isome and moves well, those who understand will understand. After returning to the inn, it seems that I will open the container of blue isome and observe it.

Dinner on the first boat

Finally, we headed to the first boat. From a tourist's point of view, I feel that fisherman's cuisine = seafood from the name Ichiban boat, The first boat is for fishermen and locals working at the port. It's a restaurant. The menu consists of set meals and rice bowls.

Looking at the menu, it reminded me of the fried oysters I ate last night at Fluffy. First of all, I ordered fried oysters, chilled oysters, and draft beer 。 The fried oysters tasted in Noto, the oyster-producing area, are exceptional.

Next, I ordered the pot roasted udon noodles as a main dish. A hot pot is coming to a simmering pot. The steam fogs up my glasses. It is a white miso soup with a sweet and rich taste. The soup is entangled with the udon noodles, and the sweetness spreads. The chewy noodles will warm your body and soul. The food is delicious because of the high quality of the ingredients and the skillful cooking and seasoning.

Local bus or walking?

When the meal was over, the time was 19 o'clock. The store closed at 20 o'clock due to the Corona disaster. There is a bus stop in front of the store. The next bus is at 19:34 on the last bus, and there is a 30-minute wait. I thought about walking home, but the tunnel at night feels a little busy. You can still afford it, but you don't have to rush either. Wait for the bus to satisfy your desire to catch the bus you missed in the morning. We waited for the bus to see the invisible sea beyond the quay of Ogi Bay.

Riding etiquette

The bus arrived at 19:34. With Ogi Port on the left, the route bus coming from the other side of the main road was cool. When you get on the bus, tell them, "I'm sorry, I'm close, but I'll get off at Kujuku Bay." This is because Noto's route buses have a pre-declaration system for the bus stop where you get off. This is a joke. When it was time to get off, I pressed the button.

The bus goes through a tunnel that is different from the one you walked through. The former is a new direct route connecting Ogi and Kujuku Bay. The bus passed through a narrow residential area and arrived at the entrance of Kujuku Bay in about 5 minutes after passing the Kanazawa University Marine Research Institute stop along the back of Kujuku Bay.

Exploring the Squid King at Night

The bus stop is in front of the old station building of the old "Kujuku Station" on the old line "Kujuku Station". From there, as I headed to the inn, I saw a night version of the giant squid monument. Surprised. Standing lights illuminate the giant squid, but the surrounding area is pitch black. Among them, a giant squid shines brightly. Surreal and deluxe in a good way! I can't help but use the words, "Mayor Noto, I'm going to do it!"

At that moment, I felt something moving. It makes my blood boil for a moment. Something was hiding in a giant squid and I couldn't see it. In addition, a couple who seem to be tourists are taking pictures. Confirm your presence or accelerate the shooting. It puts pressure on two young people in their early 20s, and it would be a pity if they forgot to take a picture.

能登町 九十九湾のイカの駅つくモール

能登町 九十九湾のイカの駅つくモールのイカキング

I approached him a little and said, "It's right there, so please take your time." "Thank you!" he said. The out-of-season scene, the 100 views of Japan on the Noto Peninsula, and the giant squid shining brightly on the shores of Kujuku Bay at night were the center, and I was thanked by the two young people for their immediate judgment.

After filming continued for some time, the two left in a car. Next it's the turn of the long-haired, white dress-and-woman there. Squids can be photographed from 360 degrees around them, which is surprisingly time-consuming. When we finished filming, there was only one person on set. Giant squid at night. If you are scared, take a picture with two or more people.

能登町 九十九湾のイカの駅つくモールのイカキング

I enjoyed the giant squid while feeling the 99 bays that I couldn't see at all at night. I went back to the inn, took a bath, thought about what I had just done, and went to bed around 11 o'clock. I refrained from observing the blue isome. This article contains some fiction.

This is the end of this "Good Trip Report". Part 4 " Good Trip Report (Complete) It's the third and final day of Noto.

I would like to express my deepest condolences to all those affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake in Reiwa 6. I would like to express my respect to those who are working hard to support the victims and rebuild during this difficult time. It brings back memories of Noto Town, which I visited in 2021. We hope for a speedy recovery in the affected areas. My desire to convey the charm of Noto to as many people as possible remains unchanged. Through this article, I would like to convey the state of Noto Town at that time and share my feelings of support.
