Walking around the city of Furukawa
After seeing the purpose of the trip, the moving of the carp, we will walk around the city. In Furukawa, it is recommended to take a quick look at the map and stroll around as you please, checking the signs on the roadside while walking, and asking the locals. It's a city that makes you want to walk forward and take in the scenery. Let's go for a walk around the city.

I walked for about 2 hours including lunch to the town of Furukawa, but even if it is small, there are probably three times as many attractions as this. You can go around in about half a day. One day is just right if you include cycling in the suburbs. For the scenery of Furukawa, the Tourism Association Photo Gallery will be helpful. I stayed in Furukawa for about 5-6 hours in the morning. "Furukawa is a city that suits people who walk around the city."
Highway Bus Verification ₋ To Takayama
The time is 13:45. Return to Takayama Station. From Furukawa to Takayama Station, take a local bus. The bus stop is right next to Hida Furukawa Station. Furukawa Station (departs at 14:10) → head to Takayama Station and Nohi Takayama Bus Center (arr. 14:45). Highway Bus Timetable There is a bus from Takayama Station / Nohi Takayama Bus Center (departs at 15:00) to Busta Shinjuku (arrives at 20:45), so it is perfect in time.
I arrived at Takayama Station around 14:48. I was a little impatient because it was 2-3 minutes later than scheduled. Is my biological clock still in Tokyo time?
Highway bus ride experience
When I went to the express bus stop, there were passengers on the scheduled bus. Purchase a ticket at the ticket counter (7,000 yen). If you purchase between Hachioji ~ Mitaka or online, it will be 500 yen cheaper.
I only bought one bottle of water at the concession stand before boarding. The soba noodles I ate for lunch were filling me up, and it seemed to be okay. I also ate quite a bit of breakfast. There are about 10 passengers on the bus, and there are no people in front or behind the seats, so you feel comfortable. We departed for Shinjuku and stopped at one PA each in Gifu, Nagano, and Yamanashi prefectures.

Arrival at Busta Shinjuku
Around the scheduled time, Busta Shinjuku arrived at. On the way, I was awake because I was going to get off at all the PAs. I was looking at the scenery, fiddling with my smartphone, and reading, so I was able to travel for a long time without any problems. It seems that a stop at the PA will free you from the shackles of a long time. The time when you arrive in Shinjuku at 20:45 is one of the reasons why you can spend it with plenty of time.

Postscript
The direct bus was the right answer. It is especially useful on the way back from Hida. On the outbound journey, even if you take the train after work on Friday, you can enter Hida Takayama that night. The plan is to stay in Furukawa from the next morning until the afternoon and return to Shinjuku by bus from Takayama. If you have more time, you can stay at Hida Furukawa or Takayama on the second day and enjoy Hida beef and local sake. The next morning, take a stroll through the morning market in Takayama and take the afternoon bus back to Tokyo for an even more fulfilling trip.
Someday, please go to Hida Furukawa and Takayama.
The whole trip is an experience
You don't have to be there to imagine the carp moving, and you can understand it from photos and videos. However, there are experiences that can only be obtained there, such as sounds, smells, and splashes in the field.
By adding a little challenge or load to your trip, such as going out of your way to verify the transportation route from Tokyo to Hida, it seems that the whole trip will be a rich experience, even if it is a one-night, one-day trip.
