Manten Shokudo, which has the concept of "local vegetables and delicious rice," offers dishes using locally grown rice and fresh vegetables in the morning in cooperation with the JA Yashio direct sales office.
The menu includes daily and weekly lunches, set meals made with meat and fish, curry, noodles, and more.
The area around Yashio has long been an area where the soil has been poor and it has been considered impossible to harvest high-quality rice. However, in recent years, rice varieties and agricultural techniques have improved, and delicious rice can be harvested. In particular, the specially cultivated rice "Yoshikawa Shizuku" of the Koshihikari variety has received high praise with a taste value of 80 points or more (65~75 points in the domestic standard).
The cafeteria is usually used by city employees and people who work in the area. In addition, handmade shallow pickles and dressings are gaining popularity, especially among women and the senior generation.
